The Sufficiency of Christianity

I've said innumerable times in the past that we are not to compare ourselves with others who are worse, or appear to be worse than we are to establish our "goodness." This method falls short every time because we can always find someone who possesses and exhibits qualities worse than our own until finally we arrive at the ultimate evil and the father of it, Satan. Compared against Satan, the consummate personification of pure moral deprivation, or evil, we're all righteous. And that's exactly the road we lead ourselves down when we mistakenly compare ourselves with people and nations worse than our own to establish our relative goodness.

I'd like to direct your attentions to yet another entry posted at VFR where Kristor L. establishes that the correct way, and the standard of measure we should apply in all cases is indeed the exact opposite of the above. Indeed, we are to measure ourselves against the ultimate in goodness and righteousness, the necessary Creator God. This method will never fail to shed a bright and glaring light on our deficiencies, and is the only way for societies, and those who make up society to improve themselves.

Indeed, Christianity is sufficient.
