Decision made -- looking for suggestions
I'm going to take the U.S. flag, currently displayed at the top of my left sidebar, down. Any suggestions as to an appropriate banner to replace it with? (Note: The Oklahoma flag is out of question.)
There is of course the officially disapproved "Don't Tread on Me" banner popular with American patriots (and less popular with oppressive regimes of every age).
Is there an ethnic flag to which you feel loyalty, like, for example, the Saltire (the Scottish Saint Andrew's Cross) or the English Saint George's Cross?
It is interesting that you should say that because I have given up my loyalty to the republican black-red-golden colours as well and I am currently searching for a replacement. The Prussian black-and-white colours aren't bad, although, as a Catholic, I baulk a bit at the thought.
How about an older American flag such as the Grand Union flag or the Betsy Ross? Maybe the Bonnie Blue would be more appropriate or perhaps you should go to a coat of arms. That of a favorite historical figure perhaps?
I like a version where the rattlesnake is coiled, with its tail up. I find it odd that the image of a "wiggly snake" should be more commonplace, but I suppose it has something to do with the skill of the original artist for the image.
I decided to use that image in my very secret blog, known only to me and a few billion close relatives, though anyone with the slightest interest can probably find it. I haven't posted in a while, though.

I am of course talking about the German republican (with a small "r") colours.

ReplyDeleteI have considered the Betsy Ross, but I'm leaning to a version of the "Don't Tread On Me".

You could fly the flag of Flatulents! Although, I have yet to actually put one to paper. :-))
ReplyDeleteHow is the decision making process doing?
